We live in exciting times – gene therapies for specific neurological diseases and ketogenic dietary therapies for Glut1 Deficiency Syndrome (Glut1DS), termed „precision medicine“ are advancing. Thirty years of Glut1DS have brought large insights in disease mechanisms, diagnosis and clinical manifestions, and treatment of this entity. Diets have become more accessible and flexible, guidelines and ketogenic products are increasingly available. Patients, family groups, and clinicians share information and support research.
Despite these improvements a lot needs to be done. „Building networks“ is the answer to many future challenges such as:
The 4th European Glut1 Conference (hybrid) will provide an international platform for patients, families, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and companies. Plenary and meet-the-expert sessions, small group discussions, lunch symposia, show-cooking. Last not least the lively, vivid historical town of Aschaffenburg in the heart of Germany close to Frankfurt International airport is welcoming you.
Let us build these networks together – see you in Aschaffenburg, Germany!
